History taught us to use the power of conversation as a way to rally, animate and unite troops or team. In this Big Blue, the crux of success is with sharing ideas and developing a vision. Later the vision takes the shape of a grand spectacle that awes people. In IBM a brilliant idea is always cherished and further it acts as an impetus in discovering solutions. Here the question is, "Is there more to what we are doing now?" or "What are we striving for?". We can discover solutions when we let all the hibernating ideas and dreams inside us go scot free.
People and Process are the two major foundation stones here. The first step in creating any great organization is to set up a long withstanding solid Process. The Promethean task is to take control of the process and to stop allowing others to limit it. People built themselves around the process. They mutually influence each other. We are capable of discovering solutions when we look beyond our boundaries and pledge to go beyond the undiscovered.
One gain more by finding a rich mine and mining it deeper that by flitting from one shallow mine to another- intensity defeats extensity every time. So yes, we can discover solutions, when we find the one key patron; the fat cow who will give us milk for a long time to come.
Working oneself as a clay is one of the greatest life tasks. IBM shows exemplary instance of it through "On-demand business" . So in the process of discovering solutions the key lies with the concentration on a single goal and push at it until it yields.

I agree IBM strives to discover solutions, but in most cases they fail miserably.Few of the worst applications are fabricated by none other than "IBM'. They have been in the industry for 100years, which they can boast about.Consider what Oracle has achieved, they have revolutionized DBs. SAP has redefined ERP. SBC has shown the world the way of data transportation.A company as small as Sybase(compared to IBM and its competitors) is threatening the other players in the market with an concept in DBs that no one else is able to achieve. Well do you still want to boast abt being in a company thats 100 years old ,you can, but also have to admit to the fact that technology cannot be 100yreas old.They must develop.
